No Fast charge from my 10 year old installation charge point

The cables you use will generally have a rating of 16 amps or 32 amps. If your cable going to the MG is rated at 16 amps you will see a lower charge rate than the cable for the leaf id that was rated at 32 amps (just an example and it may no be the case). The cables have a resistor installed...

Interesting/worrying story from Scotland - ZS with no brakes.

Non of us are experts here but not being involved and reading the recollection, some parts are hard to believe if you look at the facts as reported with an open mind. The witness in the car just happened to be looking at your feet and didnt look up when the car was shooting off out of control...

ZS EV and those hand car washes with pressure washers

Not according to the report you gave the link to, it was far from fact it was suspicion only and that was third or fourth hand information, circumstantial at best Most of arent blinkered, just realistic and don't jump on the current trendy bandwagen without knowing true FACTS which currently we...

ZS EV and those hand car washes with pressure washers

MMM, self appointed moderator! Apologies for thread drift Mr McKye. I too use a pressure washer with some common sense there are no problems.

ZS EV and those hand car washes with pressure washers

Straight talking, no offence taken, I'm not wrong in the car washes I'm talking about in my locality. I too know the people involved with these places and theyre all happy with their lot and are developing their relative businesses over the last 5 years or so with the same crew onboard...

ZS EV and those hand car washes with pressure washers

So they march him to work everyday holding him at gunpoint do they? I seriously doubt it. There are 3 car washes in my locality that match this sort of description, all of them seem to employ 'foreign' workers, all of them do a good job and in every case they seem happy. I'm happy to use them...

ZS EV and those hand car washes with pressure washers

Does it really matter? Minimum wage is bureaucracy gone mad in my humble opinion. Nobody is holding a gun to their head to wash cars, if theyre happy / willing to work for their rate of pay whats the issue? I want my car washed, they work for 20 minutes and take the £7.50 etc. I also have a boot...

That damned MG app has disappeared again!

Not been a problem for me at all, loaded it when we got the car in September, 23 and it's never faltered at all. I have it on an iPhone, what are you guys using that are experiencing problems?

    Which at home charger?

No problem at all, there 's a lot of rubbish online about all aspects of EV's. When I first got my EV I designed, built and used my own wallbox, it was a very steep learning curve but interesting project.

    Which at home charger?

Hi Edilvise, what you read is complete tosh and really shouldnt be spread around online :). The wallbox or granny charger as they are called are not chargers at all. They're EVSE: Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment. These AC units plug into domestic supplies and connect to the car. There is a...

    MG ZS EV Rubbish

But, deny all knowledge of it, they couldn't prove you had been connected to the ODBII socket, they would have quite a problem. The socket is provided as a legal requirement of maintenance and fault finding etc, if they leave some deeper technical settings open to access, that's their problem IMHO.

    MG ZS EV Rubbish

Doubtful this would be the case. The problem MG would have is a) proving you'd used the ODBII socket and b) your actions had damaged something.

    MG ZS EV Rubbish

Well thats hardly a reason to condemn the car Again, not a car problem Ooo look, yet another not a car problem More than likely a dealer problem, not a car problem Well did it breakdown or not, it seems not. I dont see that as a car 'problem' it's ongoing development work. In the past work...

    Which at home charger?

Comparing 7.5p for 6 hours and more to 9p for 4 hours, yes, youre paying over the odds in this situation. The charger has to have a basic scheduling feature - a timer for GO to operate in the 00:30 to 04:30 window. Intelligent works by Octopus controlling the schedule (additional times to the...

    Which at home charger?

MyEnergi Zappi I believe Wallbox are also compatible, your list seems to be the ones Octopus can supply. Or IF theyre going to link with Rolec. It would make sense to make the links with the largest numbers first, more bang per buck. Fingers crossed, given that Givenergy already have some...

    Which at home charger?

Yep thats one way to operate but then you're paying over the odds for energy  Mine didn't cost me £1000 either and I CAN access the 7.5p per kWh or less :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

    Which at home charger?

There are a few EVSE units out there that rely solely on connection to manufacturers servers in order to work. Its a dangerous position to get into, you're completely vulnerable to the manufacturer. Whilst not EVSE equipment, British Gas who own Hive decided to switch off the Hive server...
