    Granny Charging

it depends on how dense the terraces are. we always parked outside our home when i was a kid as most of the terraces were 3 beds so there was space for at least 1 to 2 cars outside each property. would be more of an issue with rows and rows of 2up-2downs. they aren't the only types of properties...

    Granny Charging

This would be a great solution for those who don't have off street parking eg. terraces. Too much of a common sense solution to see it implemented here in the uk though.

    Which one do you use?

I don't currently have an mg but if I'm stuck in traffic or in lights i switch epedal on in my leaf (1 pedal driving). the mg equivalent is auto hold, and that's what i will use when I get my zs.

Looks like I picked the wrong time to give up diesel ...

have you considered solar and battery storage? you can also top up your battery with cheaper (and greener) energy at night rates.

    Reduced power mode at 23%

There is with the new model.

    Reduced power mode at 23%

It is a stupid design i agree. leaf has the same such design. better not to charge to 100% but you need to do so to balance the cells. im hoping the new zs will balance the cells when the charge limit is set. i generally avoid fully charging my leaf and just keep it between 40 and 80% for local...

How do we suggest updates and fixes to MG? 80% charging restriction!

Your battery retains the battery capacity better in the long term (one of several ways to minimise dendrite build-up). My leaf doesn't have a limiter BUT it does have a timer. I charge overnight on a granny cable at off-peak octopus go rates when I get below 50%. Works fine for me. do some quick...

Granny charging - only option - will it be enough?

I don't know why manufacturers think we want it. I have been vegetarian for 25 years now so have built up enough credit with the animal kingdom for real leather. Failing that cloth would be better than pleather.

Granny charging - only option - will it be enough?

It's all I use these days. Didn't worry about it when I first got the car as charging was primarily at work. Now almost always work from home so only charging via granny cable. I do usually only charge at night between 12.30 and 4.30 though so do a couple of charge nights a week. This is for a...

My Miles/Kwh is not looking great!

indeed. preheat is all fine and dandy, but a heated windscreen together with heated seats are a winning combination when driving!

    Washer Fluid Low Level Warning

I have owned 3 vauxhalls/opels, a toyota, kia, citroen, and now a leaf and have not had the feature. The leaf does have 'dipstick' though. it's just something I check now and again. I always have a small bottle of washer fluid in the boot just in case I'm caught out whilst out and about. Having...

Can I limit charging to 80% and if so how?

personally, i would split the difference and charge to 85%.

Can I limit charging to 80% and if so how?

my workaround is with charging timers I generally keep mine on a 1230 to 430am octopus go friendly pattern and only charge (via granny cable in my case) when I get below 50% unless doing a lot of driving. The leaf will actually tell you how long it will take to get to each state of charge so...

Can I limit charging to 80% and if so how?

I'm assuming this was James Cooke? teslas encourage you to only charge to 80% for day-to-day driving and only to the max for road trips. they have also been leaders in battery management for donkeys. my 2018 leaf has 40k miles on the clock and 90% battery capacity. there's the difference. If I...

Can I limit charging to 80% and if so how?

indeed, most manufacturers limit the useable capacity to prevent the worst problems but even with a smart phone you will find it lasts a lot longer if you keep the battery charge between 20 and 80%.

Can I limit charging to 80% and if so how?

I am a current leaf owner but there is a workaround with the leaf through the charge timer. a bit of maths and i worked out not to bother charging until the battery drops below 50% on my granny cable. I never considered an mg ev up until the announcement of the 2022 ZS EV due to the omission of...
