    Vanarama Issues

@Vanarama i think there are two fundamental questions here 1) delivery timelines. ETAs continually pushed back and Vanarama seem far behind retail customers which makes this issue unique to Vanarama. 2) cost. Many customers got an increased “quote” which was mostly explained by changes in grant...

    Vanarama Issues

I’ll bet my mortgage that car is never going to turn up. Looking at how quickly the MG4 has been launched, I imagine the new ZS on the MSP will be launched early 2023.

    Vanarama Issues

My advice, hold firm. Lodge a formal complaint to Vanarama in writing. If they pursue you for the charger, decline and take it up with ombudsman. Whilst the issues aren’t directly of Vanarama’s making, I would expect they have a team of Procurement and Legal specialists to review their risk...

    Vanarama Issues

I called to cancel and it was done in minutes with no hassle. They offered me the option of looking at alternatives but when I declined they were fine. I’d call if I were you.

    New MG 7 PHEV

I’d love to see it here. Sadly the market for saloons seems to be diminishing with fewer offerings…

    New MG 7 PHEV

Looks great but suspect it won’t land here. MG/SAIC have a much wider range of ICE models in China not exported. I suspect their focus in UK/Europe is BEVs.

    Vanarama Issues

I tried to investigate this. Greenhouse Shrewsbury are a former Vauxhall dealer now a used car centre. They assumed it was their fleet arm, but no one seemed to be sure.

    Vanarama Issues

Suspect it’s the cost of the grant. £2.5k for those who ordered back in ‘21.

    Vanarama Issues

Eek. Have they given an indication of scale? If it’s the scale of the grant (£1500) that’s gonna be a lot to stomach.

    Vanarama Issues

I cancelled my Jan order and sadly it seems my decision was vindicated. I tried and failed to get hold of anyone from Greenhous who supposedly placed the fleet order. Vanarama were very helpful whenever I spoke, but aren’t getting any cars or information. They never received a penny from me (I...

    Dacia 'Springs' into Action

It should make for a great alternative to the VW e-Up. Practical and functional city car that’s cheap to buy and run.

Mg zs charging cable and wall box

I’ve always thought car mats are a quirky one. Spend c£30k and a £100-200 on a cable should be negligible considering it’s somewhat essential. Simply a case that manufacturers and retailers will know you need one so can add it onto the price?!

    Interesting article on EV ownership

Yes, in an ideal world every charger would work and be readily available. In practice they aren’t so experienced EV owners have to plan around this. However, he’s a recent EV adopter. With an ICE, you can rely on getting to your destination with just enough fuel and trust that nearby fuelling...

    Motability EV cars

We have a BP Pulse charger. Only issue we’ve incurred is trying to resolve the scheduled timing which has never worked and a number of calls to their head office has failed to resolve. However, with the current energy market, we haven’t pushed it as not convinced it’ll be cheaper overall (my ZS...

    MG3 experiences

Is that based on owner reviews or press / journalist reviews? In my experience, the latter often look down on anything that’s not German. Owner reviews for MG are generally quite positive. Note this is an EV forum, so might not provide the owner insights you’re after.

    Alternative?

Shame about the boot. Rest of the car seems a decent family-size package… the boot however is tiny.

    Brand Image

Building a new brand takes time and effort. It’s possible but requires something game changing. Tesla are now the lead ahead or BMW etc but have come from nothing. Reusing an “old” brand gives an element of recognition and is commonplace in electronics. My Grundig and Sharp home appliances all...

    A Small MG EV?

Agreed. Though I suspect, Q4 launch means realistically we’ll see this in the metal in the UK in Q2-23

Why are legacy car makers so behind in the EV game?

If you ever get bored watch the American Factory on Netflix. It’s a documentary about when a Chinese firm bought out a failed US car plant. Quite insightful. The Chinese management were really frustrated that US staff couldn’t be enforced to do extra hours, work through lunches etc. I do get...

    A Small MG EV?
