    Yellow battery gauge

Don't think the app charge status bar changes colour for me unlike the one in the car (that I've noticed, anyway)

    Yellow battery gauge

MG5 facelift interloper here, just to report on my model the 'logical' sequence of colour change (Green above 50%, orange 20-49%, red below 19%) mentioned is the behaviour we have always had

    API integration

I'm assuming you've checked this out, but it's worth doing the sums. I'm on intelligent octopus and while day rate is slightly more expensive in my area (~29p v ~26p ish) the cheap off peak rate (7.5p) more thank makes up for it. In my monthly bill it calculates your average unit cost once all...

    Failed Gridserv/ABB charging in MG4

Yes it seems the Tesla thing is a MG5 / ZS issue. You MG4s don't know you're born 😉

Advice about buying a charging cable

Yeah I got a three-phase cable as it wasn't that much more than the singe phase, and there may be the time the odd extra juice is useful. So with a single phase cable most you can expect will be 6.5kwh AC, whereas with the three phase it's about 10.5. The cable is chunky though (ie comparted...

Advice about buying a charging cable

What's the maximum AC charging your model can handle? Eg mine (MG5 facelift) can charge at 11kwh but only with three phase cable

Advice about buying a charging cable

Just to add another observation here, some chargers have DC (tethered) and AC (untethered) on the same post

Advice about buying a charging cable

Perhaps worth noting too that a lot of charging in Europe (well France I can confidently say, having researched in preparation for our family holiday to Brittany) that off the beaten track charging coverage is very good, most small towns have them, but very often they are the AC, untethered (ie...

    CCS Communications Problems

Thanks and sorry - confusing things slightly - general vibe is that MG4s are OK while the 5s and ZSs struggle more commonly.

    CCS Communications Problems

You don't happen to have a link do you? And which model Trophy do you recall? I think this is a relatively recent development and people who could use them before no longer can...

    CCS Communications Problems

Some suggestion this is a relatively recent change, but also that 4s are not affected (only 5s and ZSs). But it's a murky world and anecdotal evidence often contradictory. I only know I've used CCS on Osprey, Geniepoint and Gridserve chargers with no issues, but had a well-known error with the...

    CCS Communications Problems

Unfortunately not for MG5s (and I think ZSs). There's some sort of software issue on those cars that the Tesla towers don't like. It's a bit of a rabbit-hole but seems currently most MG5 Facelifts can't access them. It was the Harrogate charger which is open to all.

    Failed Gridserv/ABB charging in MG4

MG5 interloper here. Tried a Tesla supercharger last night, no luck (as expected sadly) but a number of other CCS including Gridserve 350kwh worked fine. Brand new MG5 facelift picked up start of June. Just sharing in case of interest / use and to note there doesn't appear to be a software...

    Lane Keep Assist

On MG5 you do it via the infotainment unit. There's guidance in the manual, assume same / similar for MG4

    80% or 100%

You should use Ohme to add the amount of charge you want. So if you want to get to 80% and you are at 30% you need to tell the Ohme app to add 50%
