A **driver binnacle** is the housing or enclosure located directly in front of the driver—typically behind the steering wheel—that contains the vehicle’s instrument cluster. It usually includes displays and gauges such as the speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, warning lights, and other driver information systems. The binnacle is designed to shield these instruments from glare and make them easily visible to the driver.
