The term **"granny-charger"** is an informal nickname for the standard portable electric vehicle (EV) charging cable that plugs into an ordinary household socket (for example, a 3‑pin plug in the UK). It’s called a “granny charger” because it provides slow charging speeds compared to dedicated home wallboxes or public chargers—something you might use at your granny’s house where only a regular socket is available.
