overrevving
Overrevving refers to the condition in which an engine is operated beyond its designed maximum revolutions per minute (RPM) limit. This can happen if the driver or rider shifts incorrectly, misses a gear, or downshifts at too high a speed, causing the engine to spin faster than it is designed to handle. Overrevving can lead to mechanical damage such as valve float, piston damage, or connecting rod failure.

Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon? When going downhill (not always on a steep decline) with no pressure on the accelerator at all the vehicle will switch up to 3.2-3.4k revs or more when hitting 61-62km/h. Every time...
