yolk steering wheel

A *yolk steering wheel* refers to an unconventional steering control design resembling an aircraft yoke (or half-wheel), rather than a traditional circular steering wheel. It typically features a flattened or rectangular shape with grips on the sides, allowing for a clearer view of the dashboard or display screen. This style has been notably used in some modern electric vehicles, such as certain Tesla models, to provide a futuristic aesthetic and improved ergonomics—though it can also present a learning curve for drivers accustomed to round steering wheels.
