Anyone had this problem

I was washing the car yesterday and found that the plastic around the inside if the charge port it cracked and coming away never had any impact the only thing I can think off is when charging someone has walked past hit the open port cover ?

Head back to the dealer, it might take long enough to get a replacement part so the sooner you start the better.
 
I've just had a close look at mine and it's difficult to comprehend what could have caused this :unsure:
 
I thought of that but there was clearly substantial force involved and it's difficult to see how that wouldn't affect the alignment and closure of the door.
 
The part that's broken is separate to the connector block.
 
I have done what I like to call a running repair till I can get a new part it’s not pretty but it works
