Hi everyone,

I picked up my IM6 Long Range yesterday and so far I’m really enjoying it! I’m not sure if anyone else in the UK has taken delivery yet, but I’ve got a quick question.

Does the car actually have auto high beam? The handbook refers to “Intelligent High Beam,” but I can’t find a way to get it working in the car itself. I’ve got the lights set to AUTO, but the high beams still seem to need manual operation.

Has anyone else tried this, and if so, what’s your experience?

Thanks in advance!

Very interested to hear your views on the IM6 after you have had it a few weeks.

What car did you have before?

Both my test drives were during day so I have not seen it in action.
I noticed though that quite a few of the tech has been copied straight out of Tesla's book.
With this in mind I presume the Intelligent High Beam will operate as in my Tesla.
Once activated the car through the cameras monitors visibility. If the camera's struggle and there are no other cars within their vision then it activates the high beam. If external light conditions improve or a car appears within the frontal cameras vision then it goes back to normal beam. And so on.

You could test it by driving the car during the night from a well lighten area to a dark road.

I came from 3 years in a model 3, and 6 months in a Mercedes EQA. Only having a day in the car, I can assure you it’s far more competent than the EQA and perhaps on par with the Model 3 in terms of its capabilities. I think the piloting in the Tesla was far superior than what’s available on the IM6, however it’s still very capable. The IM6 is miles ahead of both cars in terms of comfort and build quality.

Quick question for you too... if you don't mind = how much was insurance and from what company?
I’m still struggling to find a reasonable price. Tescos are the only company offering insurance, but it’s £1800 and I’m not paying that. My dealership have given me a week on their insurance. I’m hoping I can find insurance by then!!
