Car cutting out when decelerating

When decelerating car cuts out of drive and cruises to a stop.
Only way to get it to drive is ignition off and restart which doesn't always work.
No error message showing.
Has anybody had this trouble and know what is causing it?
Phoning the dealer in the morning.

Right, had the vehicle back from the dealership after calling MG Assistance out.
luckily it cut out when the mechanic took it for a drive.
They did a reprogramme, tested the vehicle and everything is fine (touchwood)

Touchwood didn't work, the fault is back and going back in tomorrow.
Getting a bit fed up now.

Same thing happened to me, it was the emissions value I think it's called ECR value. Was on back order, it took them over 5 weeks to sort it out. Good luck.

Yes

The 1st time it happened in the centre of a city, I switched if off and managed to restart it. The next day it happened again in a residential area and it wouldn't restart and I had to call out the recovery assist. Thank god it didn't happen on a dual carriageway or worse the motorway.

Yes Chris, the problem was a faulty brake light switch ( down by the brake pedal)

After three journeys back to the dealer they noticed that the car would start up without depressing the brake pedal and rear brake lights are on.
Wait three days for the part to come in
