Does The High Voltage Battery Keep The 12V Battery Charged Up In Every MG Model?

Ahh, you'll have to unlock the drivers door with the physical key, then climb over the back seats and open the boot from the inside.
Is there a lever to open the boot from the inside? If so whereabouts is it Clive?
I assumed I'd have to use the physical key as you said. But then fold down the rear seats & struggle my way to the battery.

The more I think about it. An Optimate lead is the way to go. A hole poked in the polystyrene cover under the boot floor wouldn't be visible. And the lead would be a damn site easier to access than the battery terminals.

I also have an adapter that converts that lead into a 12V cigar lighter socket. That would kill two birds with one stone. I could run a fridge etc without having to fit a permanent 12V socket.

You need an EV with vehicle to load, my lad.

I don't, well not yet anyway.
To get what I want in a full EV would require me to purchase from a brand whose name sounds like it should be on a menu. Between special fried rice & Peking duck.

It's certainly ironic that an EV with a mighty battery is at the mercy of a century-old lead acid battery to get started. Many EV owners keep a compact jump starter handy in case the 12V battery fails.
And charge the jump starter every two or three months so you know it’ll be good to go if called upon.

I'm just over a month into semi EV ownership & so far, so good 🙂
As previously stated, mpg has never really been a major player in my decision to purchase a PHEV.
However, the grunt is seriously impressive!
Plus the way the car manages that grunt is astonishing.
I haven't stamped on the loud (quiet) pedal yet. But a light (ish) squeeze equals some genuinely rapid acceleration. With zero wheel spin or a general lack of traction.
I've never owned a bike with the modern tech like anti wheelie or cornering ABS. Or any other kind of rider modes.
My biking has been based around restraint in adverse conditions & dollops of throttle when it seemed safe to do so? That hasn't always worked out 😗 But thankfully I'm still here to tell you about it! 🤗
But these EV's seem to grip like a Scotsman to his wallet. And the handling is genuinely ok for such a tall/lardy vehicle.
I'm gradually being converted. Before long I could well be boring folk with how great electrickery is? 🙂

Any minute now I'll give you a historical explanation of the stereotype of the "mean Scot".
No need Rolfe,
I'm a "Hybrid" myself.
Pakistan, Jewish, Scotsman.

It's just a funny stereotype.
i.e. Sweaties are tight, Taffs are sheep molesters & us Irish are thick etc etc 🙂

Schoolboy humour 101 🤗

But the historical reason for it is really interesting.

(But "sweaties" is getting offensive.)
Go on then, tell me/us the historical reason. I'm genuinely interested.

As for "Sweatie" being offensive. I don't see it as any worse than Taffy or Paddy etc.
However, I didn't intend to offend you.

Did you know that the Scots don't have any generic derogatory terms for English people?
Did you know that some Scots would support any team made up of members of the IRA, Taliban & Paedos. If they were playing England?
And it's usually once Scotland have been eliminated from any sporting competition. Assuming that they qualified in the first place?
I'm a big Irish rugby fan. The only time I ever hear ungentlemanly booing when a kicker is about to take his/her kick. Is when England are playing & Scots are involved.
The English are still considered the "Old Enemy" by many Scots

So please spare me that "no derogatory term" stuff. And please tell me the historical story about why Scots are deemed to be tight?

So.... IMHO, that matters & it makes a mockery of your "No derogatory term for English people" comment! 🤣
It's a reality & I'm sure English folk have accepted that. And they undoubtedly appreciate that it's born out of bitterness.
But hey ho, it's been going on for 100's of years! 🙄

Now where's that historical story you mentioned.
I am genuinely interested.

A Scotsman with a wallet? Why would he buy something that wasn't going to get used?

Surely he's gone digital like the rest of us ;)🤣

'Ow much !!!!
Yorkshire folk know they are tight (or should I say careful with their money) and are proud to say so. It is more a compliment than an insult. I thought that sentiment was shared with the Scots, but appears not.
:)
