In the 5th month since the delivery of my MG3 + hibryd,
after almost 4000 Km.,
Friday 24th January, the first problem:
- when the internal combustion engine starts up on the display,
above the speed,
a warning appears (in small, visible for three seconds) "ENGINE EMISSIONS FAULT",
as the message goes off, the orange triangle appears (with exclamation mark).
  • if I travel in AV (electric only), it goes off;
  • as it restarts in AVH, the message comes back and, following, the triangle.
  • the alternation repeats itself endlessly.
Every day the problem repeats itself, identical.
has it happened to anyone else?

I reported the problem to the dealer,
they gave me an appointment on 3rd February for a check-up.
I'll let you know how the problem develops.

I tried and tried again,
but I didn't solve anything,
the same warnings already reported appear;
in addition, now the orange engine light also remains on (steadily), a (microscopic) light that I hadn't noticed in the previous days.
I was hoping to cancel Monday's appointment at the Dealer's workshop, but no.

It's caused by a faulty EGR valve. This component will need replacing, but there maybe a delay in getting the replacement as they are having to replace so many.

  • Saturday 1st, I received the message to remind me of the appointment: good service.
  • The acceptance (on 3rd February) was punctual and quick, all my reports were recorded. Collection scheduled for 3pm.
  • In the early afternoon I collected the car, perfectly fixed: it was enough to install the most recent update and do various checks, all under warranty. Excellent work.
  • For now, the After-Sales Service has been satisfactory, beyond all expectations.

I do hope the problem is solved. For me it took two attempts to fix the problem with software updates. The first time the light was back on after six days, the second time we managed to go for a whole month before the problem returned!
Finally in early December, MG told all it's dealers with customers cars exhibiting the issue, to replace the EGR valve. Following the replacement on my car, the problem appears to be solved - roughly two months now, and still OK.

If it happens again,
I will update you.

After more than two months, the problem recurred: lights on and "ENGINE EMISSIONS FAULT" message.
At the MG workshop they confirmed that the EGR valve needed to be replaced.
Ordered and arrived after about a month.
In the meantime the lights went off and driving was normal.

This morning they did the work (obviously under warranty) and for now everything is going well.
