Guys I have had a Ohme Home Pro charger installed 3 years ago. I have had no problems with it. I recently had a solar installation survey done by octopus. The surveyor said that the CT clamp for the charger has been incorrectly installed. The CT clamp would measure the total electrical draw and if it were to exceed a certain value which would then blow the main meter fuse it would reduce or even stop the Ohme from drawing a huge load to prevent the fuse from blowing. This CT clamp has been installed on the cable supplying the Ohme charger rather than the main supply cable. So in effect the CT clamp only measures its own load oblivious to the main load defeating its objective as it has no way of then down regulating its draw.
Sorry long preamble but that is the problem.
I have contacted the installer on two occasions over the past 1 month but they have ignored all of my emails.
What options do I have?
Thanks

If it is that easy then Octopus installers could do this when doing their solar install.
If only life was so simple. As they did not install the charger they did not want to take responsibility for moving it in case things go wrong they would be liable. They asked me to contact the installer who is ghosting me. The clamp is attached in the garage on a very short wire and it need to go outside to the meter box. I would have tended to it myself but I was warned that if anything would go wrong would not have a ‘leg’ to stand on.

It’s not exactly ‘rocket science’?

No it’s not but that’s not something I want to be meddling with. The octopus guys didn’t want to take responsibility for something they had not fitted and neither do I.
Is there any regulator whom I could approach for arbitration.

Realistically I don’t think you will have much of a case 3 years after installation.

On second thought, if they couldn’t figure where to connect the clamp to, chances are they didn’t configure the CT option either, so moving it will probably only be half the job.

The fact that the house fuse hasn’t blown since installation means there isn’t really a need to use the CT function anyway.

If you can’t get the original installer back or anybody else then you’re probably looking at a complete wallbox replacement.
