Hi all, just a note to give this event a wee push. Entries are now open....
Last year the Scottish Motor Racing Club (SMRC) ran the EcoRally Scotland as a candidate event seeking approval for this years event to be a full FIA championship event. It's good news for all as they succeeded. The EcoRally Scotland is the only FIA championship event in the UK. That should mean entrants coming from all over Europe. Hopefully they will come. Other rounds take place in Iceland, Monaco, Czech Republic, etc. Kudos to the SMRC team for bringing this to Scotland.
The EcoRally is all about driving in bog standard streetcars. I competed in the event last year in my MG4 SE LR. It's fun, it's not about speed, and it's far harder to drive a 30km route at exactly 28kph than you think!! Especially when you're being timed to the second and tracked by GPS through virtual 'controls'. That's the short version of what it's all about. Sitting eating an ice-cream & cheesecake dessert from the Thurso hotel we stayed in, while on the charger at Scrabster is a memory I'll keep - that's part of the long version of what it's all about!!

I'll happily answer any questions you might have about this event, and what it was like to compete last year.
