Four months in and things going wrong.

Restricted speed (60 or 70mph) just shows dashes and traffic speed camera warning stopped working. Other speed limits work when they feel like it.
Anyone else had these problems.

No, cleaned to make sure.

Also, when going from 30 to 40 display changes but 40 to unrestricted just goes to dashes on display and nothing then works on speed control.

We have only had our S5 about 5 weeks now and the only thing I have spotted, is that the front camera is too sensitive to picking up on the speed limit signs at side junctions.
We can be travelling along a dual carriageway and the camera will spot a lower speed sign at the junction, it then bongs to tell you that you are speeding !.
A few seconds later, it decides it has got it wrong and corrects the error and the bongs stop.
It would be better if the speed sign in the dash, just flashed ?.
The bongs get irritating and can be distracting.
Failing that, it appears to fine .
We live in Wales and the roads are littered with 20Mph restricted zones.
It is SO easy to drive above the limit without even spotting it.
The volume of people getting caught is massive.
Main of these routes have been 30 Mph zones for donkey’s years.
For this reason, it is nice to be reminded if you stray about the new 20 Mph limit.
The car offers you NO opportunity to get caught, as will triggers the voice warning at 21 Mph .
At 26 Mph in a previous 30 Mph you could be looking at 3 points and a hefty fine.
It must be bringing in a lot of revenue in driver awareness course and fines, that’s for sure.

Yes, can be quite dangerous if you come off a traffic island in 50 zone and the car detects 30, car brakes and car behind can/could run into the rear. Not been hit but this happened to me.
You are able to turn off the binging and bonging and just have flashing limit indication.
My problem is where there is just the unrestricted sign the system stopped working.

On my MG5 I can adjust the speed warning. If I go over the set speed limit by 4 mph the screen goes to dashes - if you go a little faster it comes back!

Launch the built in satnav, it needs to be loaded sometimes to kick in gps. This will stop the —- on the sign and show what it thinks is the correct limit. None of these sign recognition speed limiters work well, my old Kona was just as bad as the MG.

Running through the M27 road works 2 weeks ago in the single lane west bound my Enyaq's ACC suddenly went up from 50 to 70 at Eastleigh for no reason , was fine the week before at same time

Thanks. I'll give it a try next time out. I normally use the google one as much prefer, didn't realise it was GPS controlled thought it was sign recocognition through front camera.. Never had any problems with my Toyota RAV4.

It's a combination, I use CarPlay and Apple Maps but have found every now and then I need to load up the internal Sat Nav or the speed signs on the dashboard stop working.

I have not experienced any automatic braking by the car, these automated systems are intended to make the car safer, but they can and will catch you out sometimes.
Not a big lover of these devices tbh.
Automatic this and automatic that, just over complicates things really, I have been driving over 50 years now and STILL enjoy driving the car myself.
The time I need to rely on software to help me drive safely, is the day when I will seriously consider packing in driving - period !.
I guess you could try the "old 10mm spanner trick" here ?.
This will reset / clear the whole 12 volt system and has been known to fix a number of strange conditions seen by other drivers of previous models.
It's very straight forward, just lift the bonnet and by using a 10mm spanner, back off the securing nut on the negative terminal of the 12 volt battery, lift the lead clear of the battery post and leave disconnected for about 15 minutes.
Now refit the terminal to the battery and secure the clamp via the 10mm spanner.
As you refit the clamp, you will hear relays in the car clicking, this normal.
Your done !.
May just save a visit to the dealers ?.

I use the speed limiter so that I can concentrate on the driving and looking at the road ahead rather than watching the speedometer. It can be frustrating as other cars disapear off into the distance though.

I have disabled the automatic speed detection and use the speed limiter which I set myself. Works fine.

I do the same as @RCK49 and @TimothyN especially when I'm on dual-carriage ways and motorways although if just driving around locally I tend to use the auto-speed limiter.

Back to normal now. Happened after my wife had the car and she does not link her phone to the car.

Still not convinced that the control system and processor speed is the best.

Mine does this occasionally, just press the navigation symbol to start the sat nav and it will work again. I suspect because I very rarely use the sat nav it "forgets" to turn on on when starting up.

You can silence the over speed warning within nav settings
