I've been looking at a lot of posts pre-arrival of my MG5 in Jan, and I saw loads of people instantly changing their bulbs to the Nightbreakers.

I have previously upgraded bulbs to Bevinsee (See here for Sergiu Gabors research into LED bulbs) on other cars to huge effect. So I thought I was going to change my bulbs to them straight away.

When I got the car, I confirmed lots of peoples opinion that the lights were dog poo. However, upon a little further investigation before ordering the bulbs. I looked at the light patterns emitting from the car. I noticed straight away that the beam was woefully out of whack and had them raised slightly.

I also noticed that the offset L-R from each was also off, so adjusted them slightly. creating a better output from the standard lights. But I still had the Bevinsee bulbs on their way.

Long story short :- Installed the Bevinsee lights, and again, slightly adjusted the offset as having two really bright bulbs shining infront of the car is really cool, but I could see the lights were still mis-aligned. So I changed them tonight!!!! and wow. The difference of having two bright bulbs shining together compared to two bulbs shining on their own makes SUCH a difference.

Even if you have changed your bulbs, I would implore you to look at your alignment. As I know mine were WAY off. It wasn't even funny.

I now have lights, that light the way in front of me efficiently. I also don't have other vehicles flashing me for mis-aligned headlights and I have bulbs that have a light output second only to the sun lol.
enjoy :)

I have also just fitted a set of the Bevinsee LED bulbs and what a remarkable difference. The beam pattern is nice and tight, great high beam and quite simply much more useable light. My mate is an MOT tester and they can only fail a car if they can see it has led's fitted. On the MG you can't so it will be no drama come MOT time.

I find my lights on my mg5 are good and not spending out for led lights when the ones come with the car are very good and love the auto lights don't have to do main beam done for me cool

Hi, Dan I ask please how you adjusted the lateral ie left to right adjustment? Mine were way out and whilst I found the vertical adjustment can't seem to find the horizontal

Can you tell how you align the headlamp bulbs.
I thought it was just a case of popping them in, TuneIn the so
They are in a fixed position and all is well.

I have had LEDs fitted to my MG5 SR since new, and passed its MOT. I now have a Trophy; personally, I think the LEDs fitted to it are no better, suggesting that the aftermarket bulbs really are good
