Well that's a first for me!

I had an alarm telling me the car was being broken into.

Good to know that you get a warning in the app come up on your phone.

I set the alarm off when I tried to lock the car with an ELM OBD Dongle still connected to the OBD port.

Yes, most OBD' can't be left on while locking the car.
You may need a cable with a switch

I have literally just had this, it doesn't do it all the time though, I plugged the ODB scanner in yesterday and it happened twice out of 4 times I locked. Then again today once but I've locked it three times and only once it alarmed.

I've never had it go off if I actively do a disconnect before exiting carscanner. It's still better to remove it though.
