Hi All,

I've got a meeting this week with the head of IM Motors.

If anyone has any feedback that they'd like to provide? I'm thinking of software bugs, any persistent teething issues, something that we could sort with an OTA in the near future?

I know that IM Motors themselves are on with rolling out a couple of patches soon, but if anyone has anything they'd like me to raise with them, please let me know.

Thanks,
Miles

I have an IM6 but still valid I expect:

a. DAB radio is very poor almost always switches to FM and rarely, if ever, switched back. Significantly worse than my Ioniq 5.
b. Please let us have auto dipping headlight!
c. Many want Pet Mode back.
d.The handbook shows a battery heater as being fitted (to enable rapid charging) but there is no info in the manual about how to use it.
e. When are OTA updates coming? How will we know they are available?
f. How will we know when other (dealer required) updates available?
g. Auto dim seems not to work or is sporadic.
h. The manual states that automatic charging of the 12V battery will be temporarily disabled when the high-voltage battery pack is running low. To avoid flat battery, it is recommended to charge the vehicle as soon as possible when the CLTC driving range is less than 70km. Not sure if any of us use CLTC there must be a specific level of SOC when the 12v battery charging is halted - equivalent to a CLTC range of 70km. So what SOC is equivalent to that CLTC range?
i. When you connect the car’s wifi to the network (my home inn this case) it seems to disconnect itself and has to be reenabled every time.
j. auto lock and unlock would be useful - with phone/app in pocket.
k. Remote pull out.
l. Show battery percentage on main screen.
m. Move where the reverse camera video is shown a sit is badly obscured in right hand drive cars.
n. Allow editing of what apps are on the main left hand screen.

To add to this
l. Show usage and efficiency stats on mobile app and in the car as well

In im6 performance, do something about the efficiency please. It is by far the most thirsty car i have ever driven. Perhaps because its always on awd? Make it awd on demand like many other cars (ioniq 5) may improve efficiency.

digital key so i can keep my phone as a key in my pocket

Turn off the car and lights when i park and exit the car. Im lighting up the neighbours house whenever i come home 😅

It needs two keys and 2 fobs, all screens went blank,so couldn’t tell what speed was doing, needs longer than 2 minutes for rear view mirror, needs better clock so rear passengers can see the time.i have twice had stones jam in the rear brakes between discs and pads, key card doesn’t work in frost.

Hi MikeJS. This is a very detailed list; I believe you covered everything.
Only think I would like to add is the following:

1. Dashcam recording from all cameras
2. Sentry mode mode the likes of Tesla.

Miles I hope you get some positive feedback from IM. The majority of these updates are well needed and will take a really good car to the next level!

Certainly agree with Dashcam. Not sure about sentry mode as it is an extra load on the 12v battery.

Hi Mike. The Tesla system drains from the main battery since for the sentry mode all cameras, computer etc need to be active. If the car hits 20% on main battery load then it switches off.
It does not operate on the 12V.

I did wonder, a quick google told me it was the 12v battery that powered it and a couple of my Tesla owning friends said they did not use sentry mode owing to 12v issues.

The Pilot could do with a little recalibration, it sometimes brakes unnecessarily and is a little too cautious.

Hi Miles
It would be great if you could raise the following:
Will will OTA begin rollout in the uk
Dash board does not auto dim at night.
No auto dip on headlights.
DAB radio poor, keeps switching to fm ( not much better reception) no station id cards showing, keep getting message regarding RDS broadcast on radio - none showing.
ACC & Pilot need further work, harsh breaking oven found when using ACC ( example, passing large trucks often results in brakes being applied harshly)
Change from American to English would be good in voice assistant.
Walk away locking, walk towards unlock would be helpful.
Battery percentage in dash would be useful
Battery conditioning would be helpful

I’m sure you will, probably get some more from others. It’s a great car - it just needs software tweaks

Hello, few points from me:
1. Pull in and out function on the app or key preferably
2. Auto updates and OTA please urgently!
3. Drivers position remember function to the last driver
4. Make the rear view camera video wider and position in better line of sight of the driver.

Thank you!

Apologies I forgot something that I reckon is quite important.
More regen levels and ideally have single pedal driving mode. I mean far lesser (technologically) EVs have it, I can't see why it could be offered by IM.

The cruise control brakes way too much before/in a corner. MG4 had same problem, but now has software that fixed this. It is annoying to have to take over with pedal quite frequently. This is the opposite of impressive.

Pet mode

Auto high beam

Fog lights on when using remote to open the car, until opening the door. And one fog light active in lower speeds when doing turns or indicating. I have this on my 20 year old Merc.

Night driving blackout - a mode where all screens and interior light are mostly turned off, just showing the speed in front of driver with as low brightness as possible, as long as there is no error messages. Saab had this for years, inspired of the fighter jets.

Information screen and control options for the battery heating management

One pedal drive

Two wheel drive mode for optimal efficiency

Recording of all the cams, with parking recording
