Instavolt now 75p/kWh for all customers across all payment types.

but none of the BP Pulse chargers work, anyway

And to think just a few months ago we continued to berate Ionity for charging 67p.

I think you can add Osprey and Swarco Econnect, both at 69p

Adhoc tapping to pay using credit or debit cards is just bonkers!

I've been using Elli for a few months and its cheaper to DC rapid charge than it is to charge on the current domestic variable tariff. £12 a month subscription gives you Ionity at 28p , and others such as Osprey, shell etc at 35p.

Elli: Charging tariffs from the consumer test winner for your electric vehicle.

Elli is owned by the VW group and is a rebranded card used by VW, Skoda, Kia, Hyundai and a few others that are given with new EV purchases with a prepaid 12 month subscription. Elli opens this up to anyone, but is essentially the same thing. You can use it throughout Europe.

But I don't do even £12 a month of public charging so tapping ad hoc is the only possibility for me.

Isn't the Elli model somewhat similar to Bonnet, who recently did away with the discounts?

Bonnet is now 10 or 15 percent off charger operator costs as signed on the charger.
Though if you never stray out of range of home then rapid charging is a moot point.
