The whole “new model” not on the insuers database is a big issue, useful post.
Database was an issue but added being AWD made it a bigger issue. Comparison sites default the AWD as just a S6 Trophy even when you select the AWD on the drop down selections. So once all the prices pop up it’s all for the Trophy single motor.

Extra beware you are insured on the proper trim for AWD owners. I guess once your number plate is in the database it might not be an issue but that’s my next year’s problem now.

I've just been through this. Allianz, who the Skoda was with - 'no, we don't insure those, they are not on our list'. Right - well, it's on mine and I collect it on Friday.
Got a quote via compare the quotes 'r us and the AA came up at £450 - great, I'll take it - I said to nobody. Clicked the link to see a brilliant message that they don't/can't/won't insure the car and can't find any policies to suit - despite having just appeared at the top of the list....
Hastings then - varied prices across 4 comparison sites, picked the lowest at £462 a year.
What a de Klerk (one for the rugby fans). Anyway, all done now and ready to collect on Friday morning!

I take it yours is a dual motor. I’m with Hastings too and had this malarkey. My quote through comparison sites was similar to yours but it turned out to be only for the Trophy Long Range after I insured it. Make sure your Hastings paperwork says ‘MG Motor S6 Trophy AWD’.
