I remember when this car was a pipe dream concept. A year later he found some investment from Xiaomi. Some people have ordered to Export according to reddit.

The SC01 is a two-seat electric sports car developed by Small Sports Car (SSC) (also known as JMEV). It features a spaceframe chassis, is designed with inspiration from classic sports cars like the Lotus Elise and Lancia Stratos, and is aimed at a younger generation of drivers. The SC01 is expected to be priced around ÂŁ39,000 in the UK.
Here's a more detailed look at the SC01:

Thanks - this is an interesting car.

Not sure what it has to do with SAIC though - they are more of a longstanding manufacturer aren't they rather than an investor in new companies?

SAIC already own several subsidiaries and work with other companies. People want a smaller cheaper Cyberster but this would have been a good opportunity to introduce a lightweight and compact car to the lineup. Something no one bar Porsche, Caterham, Alpine and Startup Longbow are working on. I think Renault are a partner company of JMEV but have the Alpine Successor in the works. So its not out of ordinary to take on something like this.

The lightweight compact segment from what ive seen are not using skateboard architecture. But battery pack behind the cabin.
