Has anybody else experienced a fault with the vacuum system?
I got the following warnings: Vacuum System Fault, Power Limited Limiting Speed and Vehicle Control System Fault. The car would move but when you put your foot on the brake the pedal was rock-solid and there was a horrible juddering like an exaggerated ABS system.
I called MG assistance and the AA arrived within 40 minutes. The AA man did all the usual checks including disconnecting the 12 V battery but could not fix it so decided to tow it to my dealers, Hendy in Crawley, he also arranged a hire car for me.
Hendy rang me the next day to say it was a software problem and that they had fixed it. When I picked the car up they had also done the infotainment update. Good service from MG Assist and I’ve always had good service from Hendy who seem to know what they are about.
So far (five days) no recurrence of the problem.

A bit worrying that such a fault could be software driven.
I suppose one could hope that it is fail-safe?

Software problem does suggest that it could happen to any other car.

Happened to mine too, moving like a turtle, 20km/h. Started my old MB 240, simple is sometimes the best.

I’ve just had the same problem here in Glasgow and awaiting the RAC

Same problem here yesterday. Recovered by AA and awaiting dealer's response. As well as the vacuum error, all other systems known to man came up on the dash as inactive.

When you get so many faults suddenly at once, it's tempting to assume that the car has had a catastrophic fault. But the old school lead acid 12V battery can cause all this, and is basically a user replaceable part. Even testing it doesn't require anything higher tech than a multimeter, if you know a little about battery behaviour. Though your local garage can probably perform a far more thorough check on it.

When the car detects a fault it can trigger a chain reaction, the car can then have a hard time processing the vast amount of information that it is trying to deal with.
It will generally attempt to report all of the numerous fault codes on the dash board to alert the driver.
In an ICE car, it will normally drop the car into a "limp" mode status or close down the car altogether, it can be similar with an EV.
The system is totally bogged down with fault codes, too many stored for the car to deal with and these require clearing out, before getting to the fault that started the chain reaction.

We had this on our car - on day 5 after getting it. Car was 6 months old. It was the vacuum pump on the brake system that was gone and had to be replaced. The car pinged up loads of errors when turned on and ended with the Vehicle Control Fault one. I had a separate post on it when it happened 2 months ago.
