I have looked around here, and over the brochure but can't find an answer on this. Do any of you fine folks know if the wireless charger is magsafe....safe?

My Google Pixel 8a will start to charge, then without moving, will stop. So I get about 10 seconds of charge. I realised it wasn't working properly after I placed the phone on the charger tray and 30 mins later the battery was very low and no sign of a charge over the time I was in the car.

I've turned it off and on - both the charging settings on the car and rebooted the phone, but it still does it.

So...if I bought a magsafe case, would it still 'work' in the car or introduce another potential issue?

TIA

Works with a mag safe case 100%, no issues, however if you have a MagSafe case with a ring holder, no.

Sooo.....today I went to my MG dealer, and asked if they could have a look at a few things, in due course - not in a rush. Wireless charger is intermittent, same phone, two different cases, and without a case, just seems a bit hit and miss, speed detection, boot if opened by my foot sometimes wants to take my teeth out, and no sign of 'traffic blobs' on dash.

It's booked in for next month, but on the way home the phone was charging the whole time, the boot opened all the way - sodding things 🤪 Although if I knew how to engage 'traffic blob' mode, I'd be able to tell if that was working too.

For the "traffic blobs" (those are other vehicles?) , don't you get them when you have ACC on? Mine shows them when I turn ACC on. But not bothered with or without them ...

My phone always works perfectly fine on the charger, I got a transparent silicone cover. I looked up yours, it says it requires precise alignment on a charging pad to work effectively and it's limited to 7.5W so may be that you need to find the right position? Try with another phone and if that works fine, it's unlikely to be the charger

You know, traffic blobs...the images of other vehicles on the road around you.

I tried sitting upside down, in the boot, across the back seats and I still couldn't get the phone to charge...

For the traffic blobs, press the steering wheel button above the white star. This will put ACC on standby and the blobs should be appearing. Press it again to turn off ACC.
