The latest charging app for Germany allows you to find and navigate to charging stations that allow payment by credit or debit card at low prices. In my area up to around 75km the most expensive is 49 cents, the cheapest 35 cents/kwh. The app only shows CCS chargers 50Kw and above and is available now on the Apple store and on Google Play in the next week.

The first thing is that I am unable to home charge (No parking in front of my house.)
OK I have three cards/apps I use mostly when charging.
EWE card and app. Cost 52 cents at their chargers 62 at their partners' chargers.
ENBW card and app. Cost 59 cents at their chargers and anything up to 89 cents at other chargers.
IONITY app Cost 70 cents at their chargers. (I have a subscription for 5.99/month which reduces price to 49 cents which I pay only in the summer months).
The last one I use is a bank of 22Kw chargers from Eulektro close enough to my house (600 m) so that I can walk back home while I charge. At 43 cents / Kwh these are the cheapest chargers in my area and are direct debit/credit card payment through my phone.

The app itself wont save you anything as it only shows you the locations where the charging companies have 'ad-hoc' pricing (no app or membership needed to initiate charging) with the price shown on the map.

The benefit to me is if I need to charge when on a trip the first thing I do is open the app to see if there is an ad-hoc charger in the area. If there is then I will charge there and save money.
