It's not on my drive anymore but while the MG5 is my latest car, here's my first... 2 star petrol air cooled engine with twin carburettors. How times change!VW Variant.jpg

Very nice condition, back in 1977 I used to have a 1969 model, the Jack went through the floor when trying to change a wheel one day and the car ended up with more weld than metal.
Lived near Staines and there was a marvellous specialist for parts and sales called Richardson's. Cars for sale used to be lined up in a barn with a cobbled floor and included square rigged MGs plus A's, B's and C's. The V8's were far too posh and new then. It was based in an old farm near Heathrow and when they sold out there were 2 or 3 classics left in a barn -made a fairly big article in the Telegraph motoring section at the time.
Prior to my B was a 1969 midget which I loved but it was dreadfully slow especially if the carbs weren't set just right - the stock saloon 1300gt could blow it into the weeds having the same engine but in a higher state of time 😀
