Random alarm triggers

Hi All,

I've recently started seeing some random alarms. Over the last 3 weeks or so it would trigger, stay on for anywhere between 10 - 30 s and then go silent. Happens once every few hours, but it goes off at night as well. It doesn't stop when I open the car with the key and I don't get a usual "intrusion" notification via app. There's nothing trapped inside, cleaned it number times over to make sure no bugs, jumping insects etc.

Did anyone else have problems with random alarms?

Is this on an IM5? If so there is evidently a recall for an alarm issue.

My alarm goes off sporadically, it usually sounds for around 20 seconds and then stops. It can happen a couple of times in a day and then not go off again for several days. Just another annoyance that hopefully we get corrected at some time ( that’s what my neighbours hope at night )

No it's an IM6. Do IM5s have an issue? Isn't it the same system?

It's really annoying. It doesn't feel me with confidence seeing I'm not alone having a problem though. May be systemic.

I think I have seen more IM5 owners reporting the issue on FB

That was on an IM5. "Anyone experiencing unsolicited alarm activations as I had in my IM5 cars early days. Previously, I mentioned that my dealer on recommendation of IM Tech Support fitted a new alarm module which appears to have cured the problem. However, just had a phone call from my dealer to say there is a recall on IM5s to change something to do with the alarm? If you are having problems it may be worth asking your dealer if you dont get the automatic recall."
