I appreciate all updates atre a snap shot in time & here is one issue. we set off from Felixstowe on Thurs to see Hamilton in Norwich. That takes you up the A140.
Sat Nag decided the new bypass around Long Stratford didn't exist and also that the A140 through Long Stratford was closed ,as indeed it was for a few days in 2024.
So it suggested a 20 mile diversion.

The Q3 2023 didn't have the bypass or the diversion.

I guess the lession is to use google or check before you set off with a new update

It's Long Stratton (not Stratford) - the bypass has only been operational for about 2 months, btw.

True. Fat fingers I guess.
I was trying to make the point that even updates can't be trusted. This is probbly a unique one off as I remember the road (old A140) was closed briefly. The new bypass really helps but why oh why is it single lane & not future proofed.

Yes... hopefully the bypass will be featured in a future map update, but guess the current update doesn't show changes in the last 2 months. The old A140 is currently closed at the north end of Long Stratton, but the southern bit of it has been changed into a cycle-only lane width, so I suspect the navigation system will show that as shut off permanently?

As for single carriageway... it was cost, apparently - still cost about £46 million though, IIRC.

The thing that gets me though, is the two tiny roundabouts in the middle of the bypass, with the single carriageway splitting into two lanes just before the roundabout and then converging 10m afterwards - the roundabouts are not even wide enough for a van to stay in its lane :(

Unless it is built-in Google or similar satnav, I'm surprised anyone still uses a car's bespoke, inbuilt satnav. 🤷‍♂️
Bespoke? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:...

I read an interesting article on this testerday... major US car makers insist on using their own sat nav/infotainment as they'd like to have everyone paying a monthly or annual subscription to them... sadly for them, very few people use the systems provided as Android Auto/Apple carplay do the job better and are free and better...

The opportunity to have us all 'renting' bespoke software is their holy grail...
