I'm usually a bit dismissive of all the gadgets, but RCTB deffo prevented serious embarrassment or even injury this afternoon.

I was reversing out of bay parking into the car park when a pedestrian, who had been hugging the back of the van next to me and therefore was out of sight, walked straight behind me. Six and two threes in terms of blame, I guess, but I was the one with the licence and the lethal weapon, so the buck stops with me.

Any which way the car slammed on the brakes quite violently, and the pedestrian continued on his sweet way, apparently unfazed and unconcerned.

I was impressed.

The system seems to work very well, I had a similar encounter when reversing into the yard to pick the Mrs up a couple of weeks ago, and a chap popped out from behind a skip, RCTA activated and all was well.

I reckon it scared me more than it scared the chap, he probably just assumed I saw him and hit the brakes.
