Sound settings for IM5 and IM6

I would say that the settings posted are just giving the sound a v-shape eq curve, setting an eq correctly needs a lot more work to do it properly. I'll share my settings once I get my car (might be a while though).
The V shaped sound profile is what pleases most people, so all consumer-focused non-audiophile headphones are turned to this. I normally go for headphones with a flat response with maybe some added brightness. I also personally don't like the sound of bass-heavy headphones. But on this car, you can take the bass all the way to 20 and it just sounds nicer with 0 detail lost, thanks to the 20 speakers of varying sizes. The sub-bass especially feels very precise and contained, so it just makes music you'd normally play in a car sound all the more enjoyable. But then again, sound is very subjective and what I like may not be to everyone's taste.

That assumes that the flat EQ is a true flat sound. I suspect that it's not from the way it's being described by others.

First I'd figure out what neutral sounds like, then try to work on the imaging. I'm guessing there's no time alignment settings so it might be a case of bringing the sound forward and working the front speakers as the primary source. Again certain frequencies have an impact on imaging whilst others won't.

Once you got neutral with good imaging you can add to it so it sounds more v-shaped or whatever your preference is. Obviously this needs tweaking further once the car is moving as bass/treble can drop out on the move.

You sound waaaay more knowledgeable on this, so I'll be watching this space for your updates. 👍

If you playback from your phone there is usually a sound quality setting with an 'adapt' feature that plays different tones, if connected, through the car speakers, then you will have a customised profile. If you started with car equaliser flat that would be a good place to start to get the sound you want when driving

That's certainly not available on iPhone and from what I recall when you use CarPlay it bypasses any equaliser settings.
