[ Edit Coulomb: Version 2.9.0 is here. ]

If anyone with a MKI MG ZS EV wants the latest (V2.8) version of the Thai ‘Android’ app here is the download link Please note the battery % is approximately 5% out due to the Thai BMS being set up differently to European models🙂

More likely, it's reporting the real SoC, and the car shows the "display" or usable SoC.

I see the author didn't incorporate my patches :-( So hard to get respect for reverse engineering these days.

The app seems to have progressed quite a bit over the last year.

Hi from France 😀
Just to inform that I tested this Thai version of eZS.... on my MKII ZS EV Long Range 2022... EU model...
With the iCar OBD (I use the Android-vlink link).
It works fine! The car is scanned and I can see living data....on main dashboard the battery % follows the one from the car but with arround 3% less.... I guess it is the real % instead of the usable %.. (I believe on mine the real capacity is about 73kwh and the usable 70kwh)
But all details about Battery are empty since the header for BMS on this model is not any more 781... but seems to be 7E5...
Could be nice to patch this app by changing this header like you did on a previous version :)
I'm also curious to understand why the battery % is present and accurate on the main dashboard of eZS despite the BMS is wrong....

The Thai BMS is different to that on European cars which is why there is a 3% difference in output % on European cars which I’ve also noticed when using the app on my MKI ZS EV. I have just emailed the app owner in Thailand to see if the app can be adjusted.

Please find several photos, I hope answering your questions...

You will find:

* 2 photos about the version of the MG ZS EV system

* 2 photos about the firmware informations given by eZS

* 1 photo about the SOH

and...

You can have a look on the forum of abrp... thread abrp forum [New Car] MG MG5 EV.
LiamWhales provide a CVS file with the MG5 EV PIDs, he manage to find! And it seems that the header for the BMS is 7E5 and not any more 781.
Is it the one used by this eZS application? May be this is the same for the MKII ZS EV...

Hi @Laclastre,

As far as I am aware the BMS PID's for the MG5 are 7E5 but they are 781 for the ZS. Also on another note, I didn't find the PID's the work was done by the mgevhackers group for the ZS, I just checked which of the PID's they had found worked for the MG5.

Hi,
The 781 header was used for the first version of the ZS EV... but SAIC changed the BMS on the new ZS EV (since 2021)... it is no longer 781... that make all third applications failed to work with my ZS EV long range today (a pity! 😀)
My question is, is there a tiny chance that the BMS of the new ZS EV is the same than for the MG5 ? So 7E5 instead of 781... Could make sense since the MG5 is a new model too...

Ah I see, it could well be but it could be different again, I have a 50kwh MG5, the original ZS is 45kwh but the newer ones are 60kwh for the MG5 and 70kwh for the ZS so could be different again.

You can with torque pro, send a PID command and get back all responses without filtering on headers (just leave the header blank on the editor) Then view the results by testing the PID from the editor screen and I think that returns the headers for you to see.
