Thule WingBar Edge - Problem installing on MGS5

Hello, I took the plunge with an MGS5 earlier this year - so far really impressed with it and great value.

I am trying to install Thule Wingbar Edge roof bars - I am really struggling and wonder if anyone else has had a similar issue.

I purchased the parts based on the Thule website ...

2 x Thule WingBar Edge 95 cm roof bar one-pack black | 721420
Thule Edge Flush Rail foot for vehicles four-pack black | 720600
Thule Kit 186222

The issue is that the rear bar just does not fit - it is too long even when adjusted to its smallest size. I've attached a picture showing the gap - it looks to me like the wrong size rear bar is specified on the Thule website. I've reached out to them for support but wondered if anyone here had a similar issue?

I think you may have the wrong set. My own bars come right through the fittings so it doesn't matter how wide apart the rails are.
Halfords shows that we need the 7106 foot pack which slides along inside and underneath the roof bar. Not sure if that helps much.

Thanks, the 7106 is for the Wingbar Evo through bars. I made the mistake of buying the Wingbar Edge which look a bit nicer but are much more difficult to fit.

Got you, maybe you can adapt them? or failing that return them for the wing bars?
