Can anyone with a long range in Rembrandt grey check their V5 for me, I was just looking at mine and it states the colour as silver. I’m not sure if that’s the “recognised “ colour, or is there is a mistake on it. I doubt it’s a problem but I am aware you are supposed to inform of any colour changes to vehicles.
Cheers all.

That is normal. They just have a set of standard colours.Google DVLA standard colours.

But 'Grey' must be one of their standard colours, because for my Camden Grey, the V5 says Grey, so surely you'd expect Rambrandt Grey to be listed as Grey?

Probably because RG looks silver….. However, you can always get it changed via DVLA.

It's complicated though... Silver is not a true colour, it's just shiny grey. The common RGB values are the same for red, green, and blue (in hex = 0xC0, 0xC0, 0xC0). So it is really a brightness of grey, with (in the case of paint vs. a computer screen) more reflective properties.

My OH kept calling our 'arctic silver' 996 grey too :(

That would suggest that the DVLA actually look at the car's colour before assigning a colour to it, rather than going by what the manufacturer says, which I find difficult to believe.

Wouldn't it be classified by the dealership on first registration
