VAT increase from 5% to 20% on public chargers and InstaVolt increasing to 40p/KWh

It looks as though HMRC have upped the VAT level on public charging from 5% to 20%.

Vastly increasing the cost of charging for those who don't have access to charging at home.

Kind of inevitable really.The Tax people need to redress the loss of fuel tax, in order, at least to cover the cost of road maintenance and development.

Looks like it might be a bit of a false alarm. Apparently most providers already charge 20% VAT.

InstaVolt are still puting the prices up to 40p/KWh.

Thats the brief. I think there are other suppliers who were offering reduced price thanks to not charging correct vat via app or rfid subscription, thinking the "de minimis provision" applies.
