Hi, Can anyone please help I’ve got a MG5 LR 2023 it’s done 35,000 miles and over the past couple of months I’ve noticed water on the rubber mat on the passenger floor , it seems to be dripping in underneath the glove box , I was wondering if anybody else has had this problem. The problem is definitely getting worse I don’t know if it’s the window screen that’s leaking or possibly through the bulkhead. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

My guess would be that the air conditioning drain pipe is blocked and it is overflowing into the car. Probably worth taking it to the dealers unless you are comfortable crawling around under the car. If that is the problem then you'll want to get it sorted before the weather warms up - its amazing how much water AC can produce.

Thanks for the reply I understand what you are saying but if I don’t use the car say for a day or two I change the towel I put down on a daily basis without using the car but thanks again

I have same problem. But leaking on both sides. Recently my wipers have failed and apparently it is because water has got into them. I had a new windscreen a few months back and I wonder if they has been the problem. But it worrying. As where else is the water getting in. A few weeks ago back the footwells completely filled with water. There may have been a very heavy rain storm not sure. But it was weird how much water got into the car. And yes seems to be leaking and soaking into carpets right at front of the footwells.
Let me know if you find a solution. I’m taking mine into MG next week to replace the wiper motors - but will ask about the leak and if it is related to

I’ve still got the problem with mine , I’ll be taking it for a service in about 3000 miles time about 4-5 weeks . What I’ve found with mine is that it doesn’t leak every time it rains some times I put the towel in it rains heavy and the towel is dry other times it rains but not as heavy and the towel is soaked very confusing. I would be very interested in what the dealer tells you please let me know.

Have you checked the bottom of the passenger door to make sure the drain holes are not blocked?

Hi thanks for the reply but it’s not coming in via the door it’s leaking in behind the glove box at times you can see the trail of water , I’m 99% sure it’s getting in via the windscreen but like I say I’ll ask the dealer when it’s service is due
