What is required to achieve Distinguished Membership?

I seem to remember @LenEV2016 talking something about making the step up a level, but I can't seems to find the post or much information on how it's done ..... so I'll ask here
I've scored a first place and 3rd place, do I need to score a second place to get the trifecta? Or is it more involved than that?
