I am sure on my MG 5 I could operate the windows with the key fob. I may be misremembering. But the S5 definitely doesn’t have this feature which is annoying. Is it a feature and I am doing something wrong or is it not?

The ZS EV does NOT offer Global Closer or Total Closer as BMW call it.
This will even close the sun roof, if you have left it open.
On most VAG models, if you hold down the open button, it will bring down all the electric windows, same for closing.
I do believe the MG5 has Global control though 🤷🏻.

I have an MG5 and read in the manual how to operate it, but I cannot get it to work.
Is there anything obvious I’m missing, or tips to get it to work?

Yes. It works the same (according to the manual) as my previous car, long press unlock button to wind down and long press lock to close.
I just wanted to check there’s no setting to toggle on/off in a menu somewhere.

I do like this feature, which I had on my Golf GTi, but don't with the MG4. That said, I mainly used it to cool the car in the summer before getting in and I can do that remotely (and better) now with the app.
I agree 👍, it was handy in very hot weather, you could drop all of the windows.
This allowed all of the hot air to escape from the cabin first.
Close all of the windows, then turn on the A/C from the App on the VW Golf GTE PHEV.
It just gave the A/C a helping hand prior.

Oh, my Golf didn't have an app, it was old school 😁
Back In 2015 there was only the GTE and the eGolf that offered preheating / cooling because of the HV battery of course.
The GTE was not a cheap car by any means, but the engineering was clearly ahead of any offerings of PHEV’s at that time.
It slipped under the radar really, it was a GTI but looked like your run of the mill Golf, unless you knew how to spot one.
Had it for 3 years and loved it 🥰.
This how I was bitten by the EV bug 😵‍💫.

Not really much point of having an App back then really Tom, as the car offered very little that you could control tbh.
I don’t think the e.Golf or GTE would have offered one, but they had HV batteries, so the opportunity was there to preheat / cool the cabin.
