Pity they don’t do a medal for 4th place, we would have a few more to show off.

Another medal for Team GB, this one was a bit of a surprise to me, Hugh Nightingale and Charlotte Banks took GOLD in the Mixed Snowboard Cross today.

The organizers of the Winter Olympics were so unprepared for a Ukrainian to win gold that a medal ceremony was delayed for an hour.
They initially hung the Ukrainian flag upside down and realized they didn't even have a recording of the national anthem.
After the Ukrainian team refused offers to play the russian or soviet anthem instead, a Ukrainian team official had to rush back to the Olympic Village to retrieve a recording from the bag of fellow skater Liudmyla Mykhailovska for the Ukrainian anthem to be played.

2. The Russian Anthem is banned from all Olympics since 2022 due to the invasion of Ukraine and ongoing sanctions, with Russian athletes competing under a neutral designation, and so that offer would never have been made.
3. No proper news reports of this either.

The unfortunate fact though is that so many people believe it or just simply pass it on without any basic sense or fact checking and eventually so many people see it, so it then becomes "true". Do you remember FUD about EVs....

I missed the medal ceremony(ies), but the upside down union flag is so common these days it makes you wonder if some don't even know that there is an upside down.
