Winter Tyres

Although it is not yet time to switch to winter tyres I am looking for some advice. Prior to getting my ZS EV I drove a ICE ZS.

I have a set of winter tyres in storage. The tyre sizes between the two cars are identical and my question is - will I be able to get my ICE tyres fitted to my ZS EV?

If the tyre sizes are identical I can’t see why not. I would check if there are any load or speed differences with the EV v ICE cars but I doubt it. You can also double check with the tyre manufacturer.

The load and speed ratings for the EV are 91W. As long as the tyres you've got are the same or higher, you're fine ?

The Hankooks I fitted are 95W.

Thanks for that. I have Vredestein’s so I will get the garage to check the speed rating.

I know, way higher than we'd ever need ?‍
Maybe there's an upgrade package we don't know about ??

I always fit all westher tyres to avoid the costs of swapping twice yearly.

Don’t forget to let your insurance company know about the swap. ABI did a list a year or so ago on which insurance companies needed to be informed.

Last year I was with admiral and they stated that if I were to swap the tyres alone, and not the whole wheel eg alloy and tyre, I did not need to inform them.
Worth double checking thought because you don’t want to give them any wiggle room if you were to make a claim.
