No it's a circuit board that plugs in to then USB port of the car and allows an Android Auto connection to your phone wirelessly.

What would be the point? I don't have the car yet, but I understood the phone needs to be cabled to the car for Android Auto. So instead you have this cable, and don't have to plug the phone in? Does it give extra functionality?

I did previously, if you go click the link that says website. There's a long wait for them now though due to chip shortages.

As far as I'm aware there are only two actual ones. The others you might be looking at are for the Chinese android headsets to enable Android Auto.

For cars that cost a bit you would think that you could correct your phones by Bluetooth to play music and other app. I am thinking of getting a CPlay2airwireles adapter for my IPhones to do the job. It is not supported for the MG HS only the Hector.

As far as I'm aware there are only two actual ones. The others you might be looking at are for the Chinese android headsets to enable Android Auto.

Possibly so, the one(s) I've seen do require an app to be installed which may or may not be possible on the head unit.

Is the dongle WiFi or Bluetooth ?
The reason I ask is that if it's Bluetooth, wouldn't it interfere with the Bluetooth connection to the phone for calls and media ?
My phone only allows one Bluetooth device connection at a time.

Reading up it's a wifi connection for Android Auto to your phone.
Sounds good but think I will stick to the wired method.
