I wouldn't buy it for the satnav or wireless charger. Satnav works but everyone has a smart phone these days. But I do find the 360 parking camera to be invaluable when parking and heated seats / wheel to be handy in winter.
I wonder how you swap out the wheels and get accurate readings when full rotation is now PI*19 inches of travel instead of PI*17 inches of travel. Unless there is a setting in some hidden engineering screen then all the speed, distance traveled and efficiencies are going to be completely out of...
One thing I've noticed is range and consumption is impacted by tyre pressure. Make sure the tyres are pumped up to improve efficiency. I'm sure cold weather, wet and the need to run heaters & demisters also impact performance.
I've had mine in Ireland since early May. I would say on average I see 1 or 2 others on the road per day. Not massive numbers but still a sign they're out there. I still see more ID.4 & Teslas. I barely ever see any BYD cars and if I do they're taxis for some reason - maybe there is a deal for...
I think the update is a major improvement to the user experience - at least it's obvious what is a button and what is information. I think it's still kind of flakey - I logged in last night and this morning it says my token expired and I had to log in again. Haven't even tried setting up this...
It's funny that a day or so after posting how crap the UX was, the app gets a complete overhaul. I suspect the 80% / 100% thing isn't fixed though because I changed it through the UI, went back in and it had ignored what I had set it to so I had to change it again.
I think scheduled charging and/or the app are broken. Sometimes I have it scheduled and it starts immediately, sometimes scheduling doesn't start. Other times I find the car charged to 100% when my limit was 80%. I mitigate by checking what's going on. I think the app is garbage from a UX point...
I have a Zappi, but I've just set scheduled charging in the MG software. One annoyance is the MG4 sometimes decides to start charging so you have to double check it doesn't. I've also seen it decide to reset 80% to 100% and I don't know the reason.
I'm not disputing it uses energy, but the fact that it uses practically the same energy to blow some hot air on a windscreen as it does to propel a 1700kg car just seems weird. It didn't use anything like the same energy to run the AC during the summer months.
It's that time of year when the windscreen is misted up in the morning so I put the demister on to clear it. My fan is usually set to 22C with auto and I only do it to clear the screen when it happens and turn it off when the screen is clear. But I notice that my power consumption ROCKETS to...
The only thing I miss is the range. Most of the time that doesn't bother me but there have been a couple of times it has E.g. I rented a Vauxhall Corsa this last week for a trip because I could do without the grief and expense of public chargers. It's funny because I could have rented a polestar...
It's actually a complex issue. Basically for OTA to work they need a way to securely download packages somewhere, verify the contents, deploy them (possibly attended/unattended) and have some means of recovery/ fallback if anything fails. That said it's something they need to sort out even if it...
