Australian MG4 pricing and some specs announced

Definitely fits the bill, will see how the test drive goes. Interesting to see the BYD Dolphin pricing was announced here today, priced to undercut the MG4 ($100 less). Seems to offer woeful performance in that spec though (and "build your dreams" plastered across the back ). IMHO...

Australian MG4 pricing and some specs announced

The LFP was what I was after so it's great that it's now been added to the list. It doesn't hurt that it's also quite a bit cheaper ;)

    MG4 or ZS EV (Australia)

Thanks. The on road charging situation here is slowly getting better I think. Handling is also a factor, I've enjoyed a number of RWD performance cars so might get frustrated by the ZS.

    MG4 or ZS EV (Australia)

Calling on the collective wisdom/opinions of this forum. Here in Australia, the ZS EV has a discount ($3000) that makes it quite a bit cheaper than the MG4 (which is yet to arrive). Taking into account on-road costs (WA estimated, in the case of the MG4), and including the EV rebate, the final...

    API integration

agreed RobQuads. Not concerned about using a granny cable here, my expected daily use is fairly low km/s so even a slow charge on a cloudy day would still be able to top up the car for me. My query was the granny pulls maybe 7 amps, and I was wondering if there is a software option in the car...

    API integration

Following this with much interest. I run Home Assistant but have no MG (yet) to experiment with. I was looking into a scripting a simple DIY PV only charge setup (i.e. similar to a Zappi that uses only excess Solar capacity, but using basic charging hardware or even the granny cable). Does...

Down under you get bigger Wheels and Batteries 77kwh

The feature list for the 3 models have now been added to the MG AU site: https://mgmotor.com.au/models/mg-mg4/ Still no drive away pricing or optional accessories listed though.

The price includes our equivalent of VAT (GST), but not dealer delivery or stamp duty, those are dealer and state specific. Here in WA, I'm expecting the drive away price to be at least $3500 higher. Note that our mid-spec option (64kWh Essence) is actually closer to the UK top trophy spec though.

Australian MG4 pricing and some specs announced

Some more pricing has been released for Australia, though it seems MG Australia is incapable of updating their website or even informing the dealers as none of this appears anywhere official  https://www.drive.com.au/news/2023-mg-4-price-and-specs/ MG 4 51kWh Excite – under consideration...

Ouch indeed, and WA has even higher stamp duty costs compared to the rest of Australia 😭 Whether GST is excluded is just speculation though, so I'll wait and see the final drive away price from my dealer. If the gap to the RWD Model 3 closes up much more though, then I'd have more of a dilemma.

Interesting OriginalBigAl, thanks. I'm impressed by your photo detective skills :), though I wouldn't put it past some journalists to just use stock photos from other countries. Typically here, 18 inch will refer to just the rim size with the final real diameter not normally quoted, but...

Australian MG4 pricing and some specs announced

Saw a few announcements today that give pricing and features for the Australian MG4. Not sure on the accuracy of the information but I've put a few links below. It looks like they are launching with a configuration similar to UK Trophy spec, but with 18" wheels (which is good as I was...

    Hello Aussies

Same here, though choices here are still seem very limited and pricey. I'd also consider a second hand Tesla, but prices are still insane (2-3 y/o cars seem to cost close to new after incentives). A new Model 3 almost seems to make better financial sense 🤷‍♂️ even though I've always been happy...

    Hello Aussies

Greetings from Perth (the slightly warmer version with less tartan) I wonder was anyone else down here disappointed with the big unveiling? No price, no delivery or even order dates? They just pulled the sheet off and revealed the car many of us have seen already. (sorry if I sound a bit...
