I've sent a pretty scathing email to the person looking after my order and the account management team (I set up the company account with them so have a couple more contacts) and as part of that have asked them to confirm cancellation costs, I'm pretty sure that unless something changes swiftly...

Which they have just delayed by another 3 months, now estimated feb to April 2023 (I ordered march 2022 Silver TCLR) and I only found out by checking the octopus tracker, no courtesy email from them or anything.

The problem I have is I am waiting for a car on Octopus Salary Sacrifice, so if I cancel that and look for a cancellation my monthly fee literally doubles.

yeah i have been looking at the salary sacrifice site to see if anything else fits the bill. Polestar is just a bit spenny given that its not exactly right and a Model Y is out of my price range! They seem to have done it with the models they identified as being in demand, so they have done it...

Octopus EV placed a batch order, and then did custom factory orders once their batch was all pre-allocated. So although MGs order of delivery makes absolutely ZERO sense, Octopus were able to be quite transparent with me regarding their ordering process with MG.

Based on my conversations with them at the time, you are a factory order. I ordered 22nd March and got told they had just finished allocating their "pre orders" so everything from there would be factory. Let's keep our fingers crossed our cars are on the same boat!!

When did you order? Do you know if you were in OEVs batch of stock orders they made or were you (as I was) a factory build order?

Ooo, that's interesting, I placed my order through OEV in March, so hopefully there will be good news come November. Out of interest what have you ordered (Silver TCLR for me) and what did your tracker say (mine currently says between December and Feb). Who is your dealer? OEV won't tell me...

I thought MG5 2022 had started deliveries. I am probably wrong there. Although the comment about no UK model having the hardware and the data protection stuff is wrong. The MG ZS which is being delivered in the UK does have iSmart. A deal with AWS makes sense as it has Amazon Music baked into it.

To be fair cars that are still in a factory "awaiting parts on shortage" are inherently very reliable, they don't need to drive anywhere!
