I have the MG5 LR Trophy (2023) and have tried several Tesla chargers but no luck getting any to work. I get as far as app and trying to connect but never further.
Considering trying camping with V2L and my MG5 EV. Anyone have any V2L experience with this car specifically? Any good tips on what devices work well this with this and tent camping?
How much power (approx) do devices like kettles, small heaters (typical handy camping appliances) generally draw...
I can confirm my MG5 EV 2023 doesn't work with Tesla chargers. Signed up to app and did all the necessaries but after several attempts at different charging stations and ports, no luck.
I tried all 7 Tesla Chargers near Warrenford and none worked. And they werent faulty as 4 of them had cars at them before I tried. I assumed the MG 5 EV just doesnt work with them?
Best I've ever pulled is 30kwh and that's from ultra fast ones (150+). I can see from specs that the most this MG can pull is 80kwh but has anyone ever come close to getting that?
Just done my first long distance journey down to England so been good to have some practice on the motorway...
The interface as a whole is just poorly arranged/managed. I don't understand why though, because some issues are so glaring that surely 20 minutes of user testing would have highlighted most of these.
Im not sure tbh. I thought CarPlay was just the software name in the car and Android Auto is the app on the phone that interacts with the car? Either way, AA only works for me if plugged in. Haven't found a way to connect wirelessly except via BT and that doesnt work with AA.
I agree all my older cars had this but then none of them had android auto. If you're going to have cars with AA and this only works when phone is plugged in, then surely they should open up at least one more port for data. Although I have limited knowledge of how USB ports are made, I can't...
Had my MG5 for about 4 weeks now and theres lots I love about it, but some things that have cropped up that are really quite annoying. Hoping some of these are fixable (either with advice from the community or a firmware update at some point) but I suspect I'm stick with it and I feel the need...
Thats surprising but good to know. I would have thought it drawing alot of power just because the electric pumps can be running constantly for 10 minutes and to very high pressures.
Bit of a long shot question, but has anyone ever used an electric SUP pump via their electric car? How much charge does it use up roughly? Or just not worth it for the energy drain?
