Hi. I don't remember that. I only had to connect the wire up to the boot latch switch. This told the car the tailgate button or keyfob had been pressed.
Sorry it's taken a few days to respond. If I remember correctly, the yellow wire on mine is the unlock wire and has to be connected to the wires for the tailgate latch. If you take the tailgate trim off, there's 2 wires that run to the boot release switch. Attach the yellow wire to one of these...
Hi. I managed to install it on my MG4. It was an almighty ball ache and took a couple of goes (test fitting and running wires, etc). The hardest bit is getting the wiring through the car into the tailgate through the rubber. Absolute nightmare.
I've attached a copy of the instructions I had but...

They fixed it with some software updates and now it pre heats without having to pre heat the battery. Going back in again on Tuesday for the heating to be looked at again.
I completed the powered tailgate install at the weekend. It’s great and a feature I’ve always wanted with carrying kit about and having my arms full when trying to open the tailgate. However, it was an absolute mission to install and run all the cabling and wouldn’t recommend unless you know...
My accelerator cover slipped off. Only noticed when I was struggling to accelerate, looked down and it had half slipped off and was jamming into the carpet. Left it off for now.
The other option is drilling a hole in the plastic which others have done. Only reason I haven’t is if MG eventually recalibrate the sensor and I would need to get a replacement cover. Although, it’s unlikely MG will ?
With the bright sunlight (finally) in the mornings, my auto lights gone on and off all the time when passing shadows caused my trees, etc. Decided to print off and try the 3d printed ASA covers and see if they deform or not.
?? I took mine in last week for them to fix it and it still doesn’t work. Meant to have phoned me back after raising a case with MG UK but haven’t heard anything. I’ll have to chase them today.
