Flood water damage resulting in full battery replacement

I'm so pleased this has been resolved for you. It's pretty rare to get stuff like this happen so it's great you stuck to your guns on this & didn't just roll over. I was a tech for many years & can tell you ALL manufacturers get the odd issue like this. It's the way it's handled by the dealers...

    R27 VS R25

I went from R25 to R27 but cannot tell you what all the benefits are. I can tell you that R27 allows your car to see a multitude of other updates that I've been told makes the car more reliable & robust. Certainly my car runs superbly without issues. Did your car receive all the additional...

Is range anxiety finally defeated in England?

I see where you are coming from on this. I actually look for 'slow' 50kw chargers at motorway services so I don't have to get up from my coffee & bacon roll & go outside to move my car when charging stops! 😂

Is range anxiety finally defeated in England?

3sheds, I live in North Essex & do not have any range anxiety. I've travelled a bit on long trips to the midlands & down to Farnborough but had no issues finding charging hubs. Have never actually stopped 'just to charge'. Usually it's a case of needing a cuppa & a wee! So I take advantage of...

iSmart token invalid message in car infotainment, ismart app not working anymore

Your car will still go to sleep after a a period of time no matter what software updates you have. This preserves power. The fact you have experienced issues recently is good reason to still see your dealer for a Telematics software refresh even though it now seems to be working again. It may...

    ZS-EV Software

Dealers don't actually know what updates there are for your car. They won't know until you get hooked up to the MG server. You need R27 then the dealer & car will 'see' new updates that can be loaded. There are rarely any bulletins telling dealers to carry out updates unless it's a safety issue...

iSmart token invalid message in car infotainment, ismart app not working anymore

Ok, during the summer of 2025 I had almost exactly the same issue as you describe. Except the message that I got was different. It said 'vehicle not responding' constantly. My dealer & myself tried everything to get it to work. Then MG got involved & tried to fix it after I contacted them...

iSmart token invalid message in car infotainment, ismart app not working anymore

Oh that's interesting Clive. Mine has been working ok. I wonder if it's been a regional thing because I've been able to remotely access the cars data through the app, turn on battery heating etc etc.

A sensible way to charge from home.

Yes, the above is right. I plugged in at 2.30 in the afternoon a couple of days ago. A smart charge schedule appeared immediately. The car actually started charging straight away for 30mins. Then rested for 30mins then started charging again for an hour. I had not asked for much power (30% to be...

    Battery drain (10%-3% overnight) ?

Interesting thread. Just bear in mind, as said by others, that temperature will affect shown range & actual range. You MAY see some small drop in shown range on the GOM as the battery cools down after a run. This will be further exaggerated if the battery isn't in an equalised state. All this...

    ZS-EV Software

Sure, I rock up to the charger, open the app & follow the connection instructions & start the chatge. While the handshake is going on I lock the car. I hear the connector lock into place. I'm then off to get a coffee & bacon roll. When I get back (usually after 25-30mins the charge has...

    ZS-EV Software

When you lock your car it should lock the charge connector into place. My connector locks very quickly during the charge initiation. Wondering if that might be the problem? Try immediately locking the car after connecting. Dealers charging for diagnostics is quite normal & you will often be...

    ZS-EV Software

Bear in mind that it is Tesla that supplies the correct upgrade software/firmware fix for our cars, not MG. MG have little to do with it other than loading it. Of course they do work with Tesla on specs & loading requirements. As told to me by a Tesla technician who was servicing a Tesla...

    Settling pcp

If you are thinking of changing then the new MG S5 seems a good bet. It's getting rave reviews all over the world. A little more range than our ZS's but not much. All the latest tech etc & a slightly bigger car with a more modern design. Regarding the PCP treadmill, the options are to trade it...

Battery SOH with Car Scanner Pro and Vgate dongle. Am I missing something?

Older thread that this is, it's worth mentioning your ZS EV manual asks you to equalise your HV battery every month. Page 6 iirc. The reason is to protect your battery SOH & preserve range. If you only do a 100% equalisation once or twice a year that isn't really enough & will lead to faster...

    ZS-EV Software

No, R27 doesn't give you the Tesla update. The Tesla upgrade is an entirely separate firmware/software upgrade. Your car already has the upgrade to allow Tesla charging. As mentioned previously in other threads, I'd directly contact MG support through the app or speak with another dealer who...
