I will have to check how I set the climate control. A bit strange that it has an effect on the EV mode at start up as it can be manually activated. Anyway not a big issue for me.

I think @Jto and @Electrickery are talking about two different things. For some reasons the sign detection often fails at detecting 70 mph signs and therefore it will display 60 on the dashboard and if you are on the motorway it is flashing. To prevent that you can do what @Jto is suggesting...

Mine always starts in hydrid mode so I took the habit to manually turn the EV mode on when I start. Even a small stop for few minutes tends to switch off the EV mode.
