Frunk Gas Struts - Which Way Up?

A question - Gas struts for the MG4 frunk, I've seen photos and videos with them installed in either direction. Is there a correct way to install them, i.i.; with the hydraulic reservoir at the top or at the bottom? Thanks Mark

    Removal of sunglass holder unit

I ended up having to remove the sunglasses holder when replacing the globes, was very easy and being able to hold the socket in place gave me more confidence in getting a good fit. unscrewing it was probably the quickest part of the operation.

Interior light LED replacement MG4 - LATAM

Did mine recently, managed to push a bit hard and the socket popped out into the back of the housing. Solution if this happens, or just do this to make the whole job less stressful; open the glasses holder, two Phillips head screws there, remove these and then the whole assembly pops loose...

    Attaching Rally Plate

Back from the run over the weekend. I used the magnetic tape, and the plate stayed in place quite happily over the entire run, over 500km, thanks for the suggestion Ian Key 😋

What car did your MG4 replace?

My 4 replaced a 2017 MG 6 GT turbo. Here in Western Australia, the First SAIC MG franchise opened in 2018, and among their opening stock were the last 12 MG 6s to be imported to Australia. I took up a novated lease on an Essence model and had great fun with it until last month, when I ended the...

    MG4 Frunk now available

Mine arrived from EVCars, remove the cover, fit the ball head bolts and it slides over them. Easy to remove and makes it frunkier. Or frootier. The struts were a little bit more involved, mostly removing the clips on the bonnet liner, but now done. Info from MG Australia suggested no warranty...

    MG4 Frunk now available

Have ordered a set with the struts. The struts were a definite buy, even if I decided against the frunk as an option. I'm thinking that the struts that are being provided may be better than the AliExpress ones. They have been sent and are somewhere on the Nullarbor now.

    Step by step to charge?

Sort of the reverse of the old "Le Mans Start" where drivers ran to their cars and jumped in.

    Attaching Rally Plate

Lots more info there ... I'll try underneath the number plate to start, and if it causes a problem, I'll either magnet it to the bonnet or stick it in the windscreen (which does seem to be most people's fallback.

    Attaching Rally Plate

It runs every October and is open to non club members as well as members of the three WA clubs, always great fun. Okay, not systems I'd like to have non-functioning - looks like on the bonnet it is.
