So, just to close this one off, the dealer that supplied my car tells me the plate holder is just screwed in ( from the front), they are going to post one down to me ( saving a long trip to Leeds), you can’t really ask for more, I can fit it myself in a couple of minutes.

Let hope they are accommodation Salty - if not I might try to pick up a blanking plate to fit over the top. I’ll send a message to the supplier of the car in Leeds, maybe they will just post me one down ( if it just screws on from the front)

Cheers Nik, I guess they forgot to swap it during the PDI, problem is that I purchased it from Leeds and I don’t really want to have to go all the way up there to get it changed. I might ask the local dealer but he might not want to be that helpful as the car wasn’t purchased from him !

I think they may have forgotten to swap the mounting plate over on the pdi, I’ll have to see if I can find one ( forgot to delete the postcode - doo)

That’s spooky Nik, it might be worth trying your phone in the wife’s car to see if it works in there, also I didn’t realise that the car had such a small limit for data ( makes it almost unusable). Best I start using CarPlay for Spotify or the car will run out of data before OTA updates start ( 😂🤣😱)

If I don’t press a button I can talk directly to the car and that will do the car navigation or indeed Spotify, I only press for Siri if I want to use a CarPlay app. Hi Nik, so left scroll wheel for car voice, right scroll wheel for phone ( long press for phone) that should work 🤔

Not sure, if I ask the car for Spotify it goes straight to it, I only have to press the right wheel and ask Siri if I want to play Spotify via the phone. ( it plays back in so much beeper quality than the radio !)

Hi Mick hi Mickey Having jumped from a Skoda into my im6 I can assure you that the vw group often have the same problems. Yes OTA is now working at Skoda ( but it can at times be flaky) the MG app was probably modelled on the Skoda one because they are both lacking. Hopefully things will improve 🤔

Trust me it’s a superb car - yes there are some software issues but providing updates follow swiftly OTA all will be good. You would have to go a long way to find a car more comfortable that is also great to drive.
