Zappi charger Version 1 vs. Version 2 - what's the difference?

Hi TassiedEVil Very happy using our Zappi v2 using our solar to charge our ZS. Getting lots of charging done with the car in the carport during lockdown in Melbourne.

    Zappi 207

I have a zappi paired with our solar - I don't know the model number. I think you need to set it in one of the eco modes for it to wait, either for enough solar or for the timed top up charge.

A bit of watery fun with a MG ZS EV!!

We had a weekend away (middle of the school holidays) - not a great distance but first expedition, had a ball, watching the rain through the roof and rolling through the Mornington Peninsula hills. With friends, curious about noiseless EV, spotting lots of EVs, mostly Tesla's. Petrol about...

    BMS update- feedback from MG

Interesting - we're only up to our third charge, but after the second overnight the car did something similar when unlocking the car, relocking and restarting charging the car when that had stopped hours before. I'll have to try a long rebalancing charge (we had battery/BMS warranty issues...

    Granny charger failed.

I just had a similar issue - first charge and neither charger would go beyond recognising the connected cable, with an actuator hammering noise. I pulled the manual lock release inside the engine bay, and somehow that realigned the lock pin so that the lock works and the car charges.

Charging cable lock to car - help?

Thanks, a couple of tugs realigned the lock and car is charging 😁

Charging cable lock to car - help?

Having received our new ZS EV back from first day warranty fix of 12V killer BMS and having the car to drive for more than a few hours, I was trying out our first car charge - but the car will not charge. I tried trouble shooting different options - doors locked and unlocked, supplied granny...

    BMS Versions Australia

We've been updated to the latest BMS as the solution to the 12V battery failure caused by the old (November?) BMS

Dead (12V battery) on arrival! less than auspicious start

We have the car back  The official version is "The [BMS] issue was causing many modules on the vehicle to stay awake rather than switching off. When these modules were staying awake it has caused a drain on the 12 V battery that has meant that the battery has lost charge very quickly." The...

Dead (12V battery) on arrival! less than auspicious start

The latest is a suggestion that an MG directive not to install the January BMS update led to the computer draining the 12V battery. So the purported fix is to apply the latest BMS update. I'm not entirely sure how the existing BMS could be instructing the car to drain the 12V to death.

Dead (12V battery) on arrival! less than auspicious start

We weren't happy, so we got a loan car, and after a week upgraded to a standard ZS so we could at least get used to the car we expected to be in.

Dead (12V battery) on arrival! less than auspicious start

Update: the dealer has reported the car drained a new 12V battery in less than 6 hours (between installing mid-morning and calling us before COB). So something drastic is draining the battery.

Dead (12V battery) on arrival! less than auspicious start

Some idiot lights and messages to drive the car to charge the battery (which was happening). But if there is a fault with the battery it shouldn't really pass through pre-delivery workshop inspection.

Dead (12V battery) on arrival! less than auspicious start

My wife and I picked up our brand new MG ZS EV from the dealer last Wednesday (24th) lunch - oh happy day! A few afternoon errands, then my wife was driving out to a post-COVID dinner gathering when the computer spat the dummy, shouted a range of alarms and then shut down the car. She was...
